These two trails explore two of the main textile areas in Calderdale:
The mills on Hebden Water, from Bridge Mill which dates back to the very early 14th century to Gibson Mill, set in the very beautiful Hardcastle Crags and now owned by the National Trust.
The area around Makin Place which was where Sam Hill, one of the most successful and wealthiest manufacturers in the UK built his empire.
